The pharmaceutical subcontracting sector has really emerged over the last 20 years.
Pharmaceutical subcontractors, also known as CDMOs (Contract Development Manufacturing Organisations), are involved in the manufacture and packaging of medicines on an industrial scale.
The scope of intervention can also cover a wild range of services both upstream and downstream of manufacturing. Indeed, many CDMOs are active during the drug development stages and/or provide regulatory or logistical services.
The objective of a CDMO is to offer global solutions to pharmaceutical companies for the manufacture of their medicines.
